Instead of a game or animation, Hatsune Miku is a character created with a singing synthesizing application by a Japanese company, and she sings just as realistically as human beings do.
Her age and appearance was as well set up by computers, and surprisingly, she has gone viral after "issuing". Later on, the company created various voices of her successively and had her appearances as well as her characteristic accessories set up.
And now the program that produced the "voices" of Hatsune Miku has formed a "family", called the "VOLCALOID family" or simply the "V family", which means the users who choose to use this program, VOCALOID, and is in comparison to the "UTAU family", or the "U family", which some of the users choose to use this one instead.
